Under Ihe junior program, with Lille Flynn Chairman, il was reported that five of our juniors were welve years of age and eligible to al2end Ihe junior Conference at Santa Cruz in February. This is a lear- ning leadership conference for the juniors of the auxiliary. This conference brings juniors from all over he state Iogether for this special workshop. The only problem this year is thai the conference is oil the same weekend of the Citrus Fair, and so a meeting of juniors will be held soon I o make this choice of going Io the .conference or to the fair:-. The conference is being supported by ticket sales with three government bond drawings for the prizes, plus each unit must pay $40 per girl for the F'riday to Sun- day conference. The juniors are also in- viled =o acl as Ihe honor guard for Ihe installalion of the Church Women United and are asked to participate in a nationwide junior pen pal program, where our girls may correspond with other girls throughout the nation and world. The auxiliary, under lhe children and youth -.program, has gone on record to sponsor a girl for he Citrus Fair Queen, with Maxine Bluhm as chairman and Dena Gambelta as cochairman. The auxiliary also par- ticiated in the Jefferson School's Chrislmas program by providing Santa Claus and 500 candy canes for the children. The auxiliary through Ihe Chaplains program, led by Lille Flynn, is ordering 40 copies .f he litlle booklet, "ttow =o Pray," to distribute lo the shut-ins and he rest home and the King's Valley. The auxiliary throughoul ',he nation are all par- ticipating in the Special Olympics program for the handicapped children• The l.cal unit voted lo con- ribu e $25 for l his program. The Northern California Society for he Prevention of Blindness is offering a free home eye l esl for preschoolers. The local auxiliaryhas secured 100 of these testing pampll and are hoping to dJsLri them to the two presm facilities, one at the Cabin at the city park iI the, Christian Churd= i Tarman Drive.
