Page 6, Cloverdale Reveille, December 10, 1997 Details of Furber Park presented.to residents Councilmen Jim Teague and Robert Jehn, members of the Furb- er Park Subcommittee, met with interested residents of Rancho de Amigos and Cloverdale Meadows Dec. 1 to review current plans to improved the city park, to be locat- ed in their neighborhoods. City Manager Bob Perrault was also present and gave the group a brief history of the park's develop- ment to date. The City has reached an agree- ment with developers to provide $402,000 worth of improvements at the Park in lieu of the city park originally planned for Clover Springs subdivision, now known as the Del Webb project. While this money will go far in improving the park, more will be needed to complete the master plan, Perrault told the group. Baseball and soccer fields, bleachers, restrooms and park benches will be built as well as two horseshoe pits. Still to come will be an arbor area, a pavilion and tot area, bar- becue facilities chain link fencing, a modular play structure, and landscaping. The Subcommittee has met with a number of organizations in town who have pledged their support, both financial and with in-kind labor. These include the Ameri- can Legion, Little League, Clover- dale Rotary and Lions clubs, the Soccer League, Police Officer's As- sociation and the Green Thumb Garden Club. There will be oth- ers, as well. The park plan is due to be com- pleted by February or early March and construction will begin as soon as the weather breaks in the spring by North Bay Construction of Santa Rosa, who will be respon- sible for the design and engineer- ing.
