Mr. Dawdle brought a truck load of pumpkins to school so that most children received a pumpkin as well as teachers and aides. Thank you, Mr. Dawdle. For the first time. our head bus driver, Mr. Cummins, presented a bus evacuation to the children at Jefferson School. First a film on bus safety and evacuation was shown to each class, then each class loaded a bus. and was explained the processes of evacuating the bus. In the event of a disaster in the back of the bus, we first had a front bus evacuation. Then we got back on he bus and had a rear bus evacuation which was a bit more difficult especially for the first graders, since they had to jump about four feet to the ground. Anyway, everything went well for our first bus evacuation. There will be more bus evacuation forthcoming during the year. The Multi- Culture program for.he first part of the year will be the study of the American In- dian. Plans are in the formative stage on how to conduct this program, and will be started soon. The second graders went on a field trip to the Brac- cialini Ranch to see the grape harvest and to pick some grapes by themselves, and then they all made grape juice in the afternoon.
