He opened his remarks by congratulating Councilman Robert Jehn who was appointed by the board of Supervisors to the North Coast Railway Authority Board of Directors. Jehn is also a member of the Sonoma County Transportation Authority. Supervisor Kelley reported that a call for bids will be issued by Sonoma County Transit for construction of Cloverdale's rail platform and depot slated to begin in the Spring of 1998. Kelley said the county continues to work on the regional Park for Cloverdale but has hit a snag in finding an acceptable access road, "I am determined that this park will become a reality," Kelley pledged. He said he was proud of the Wine & Visitor Center now under development on N. Cloverdale Blvd. and assured the Council that he would make every effort to secure County's tourism funds to help the Center along in 1998. In anticipation of possible heavy rains this winter, the County is cleaning the Cloverdale Creek channel. In closing the Supervisor referred to his regular office hours in Cloverdale from 9 to 10 a.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays at City Hall --- __,---, _ • /- . Previously she worked in office management and bookkeeping at Geyser Peak Winery and Reuser, Inc. If you're not sure you need Catherine's help, listen to her advice, "I believe anyone in business who would say they are not detail oriented needs a bookkeeper. Pve been finding the last two weeks, that people are giving me a year's worth of work that needs to be done by tax time. Calling a bookkeeper and finding out what they need, on a monthly basis, would be much more cost effective." Give Catherine a call at 894-4330. October 29, 1997, Cloverdale Reveille, Page 7 I Oct. 20 marked the 35th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Brooks. Phill and Susan were married in Pleasant Hill in 1962 and moved to Cloverdale in 1981. Phill sewed in the US Navy, then worked for PG&E until retiring. Susan was a homemaker, then worked for WestAmerica Bank and finally retired from CIoverdale High School. Together they raised three sons and with daughter-in-laws have four grandchildren for now. All their kids help keep them very youthful and spunky. Boys and Girls Club masks still on display In celebration of Second Chance Week, Boys and Girls Club mem- bers and their families made masks out of materials that normally would be thrown away. Second Chance Week is a statewide cam- paign designed to promote reuse, resale, and recycling. Creative Reuse, a non-profit recycling group in Santa Rosa, donated materials for this project while encouraging organizations such as the club to get involved. The masks were on display at the Club during Second Chance week, October 20-24, for everyone to enjoy. The exhibit will be extended for one more week. The community is encouraged to stop by the Club to view these great creations. .=,,7 -' _ ,-'-,.. 2- .: ". "- ;'.. • .W-._,. c " .'. Z "- ,. - , - " .-K.z % ,,,. .: .. %..
