Champlain House peaceful home for seniors Running a household, taking care of yard work, cooking for oneself and doing laundry can be difficult to juggle at any age, but as one grows older, these chores can finally become insurmountable. After a lifetime of working hard to support and raise their families, seniors can relax at Champlain House secure in the knowledge that they will be cared for by a knowledgeable, friendly, and competent staff. Champlain House was opened in July of 1996 by Ed and Chris Bowen and Don and Sheryl Sate. "We want our residents to feel that Champlain House is their home and we welcome their families to visit as often as they can. Transportation is provided to the senior center for our residents who wish to participate in the activities there. If residents want to participate in other community events, they are encouraged to do so," Bowen said. Champlain House is located at 311 Champlain St. 894-8699 and they are currently accepting residents. Marge Gray's works on display at wineries Local artist, Marge Gray, noted for vineyard and grape paintings is showing work at Lake Sonoma Winery as well as Hop Kiln Win- ery with the Artists Six Group to Oct. 26. Lake Sonoma Winery is open daily 10-5. Hop Kiln is also open 10-5. Marge is also showing with lo- cal artists Judy Christopher and Gene Summers at the Cloverdale Library through Sept. 27, open 12- 5 daily and evenings Men. & Wed. Gourmet Club to hear local artist Jim Gra Y The Cloverdale Gourmet Club will hold its monthly meeting Sat- urday, Oct. 11 at the Wine & Visi- tor Center, 105 N. Cloverdale Blvd. at 7:30 p.m. Local artist Jim Gray will dis- cuss the masks that he makes, and participants are encouraged to come in mask or full costume in the Halloween tradition. Membership is open to all who enjoy fine food, wine, music art, etc. Proceeds from the $7.50 monthly dues go to the Center. Call Jeff Weiss, 894-5737, for more information. Chargers beat Trojans 31-13 On Saturday, Sept. 13, the Cloverdale Joe Pardini Youth Football Junior Varsity Chargers played the Lower Lake Trojans. The Chargers put away the Trojans 31-13. After a scoreless first quarter Craig Ber- nardi caught a long pass and went in for the score. Brian Hampton had great runs throughout the whole game, three of which were touchdowns, making him the high scorer. Greg Shaw also scored. The next home game will be Sat., Oct. 4 at 5 pm against Fort Bragg.
