It was a marathon game with Cloverdale finally winning three out of five matches. The Eagles won the first two: 15-10 and 15-5; lost two: 16-14 and 15-11; and won the last set, 15-13. "We're moving right along," commented coach Margaret Fitzgerald. "This is kind of a slow time, waiting for league to start, but we're doing well. In Tuesday's game Monica Dal- ton had 16 service points, four aces and five kills; Danielle Bird had 12 service points, two aces, and seven kills; Krista Warren had seven service points; Kristan Lane had nine; Molly Connolly, one; Katie Gunnink, five service points and four kills; Heather Zapalski, three service points; Bonnie Mc- Donald, six service points; and Jordan Jackson, four service points. The junior varsity team lost at Elsie Allen, 15,3 and 15,2 but de- feated Geyserville. The girls travel to Eureka this weekend for the St. Bernard's Tournament. Caitlin Jensen (I) and Monica Dalton are members of the Cloverdale Eagles varsity volleyball team. Monica is a sophomore and this is her second year on the varsity team. She is an outside hitter. Caitlin, also a sophomore, is enjoying her first year on varsity, having played on the junior varsity team last year. She is also an outside hitter but hit something other than the ball last week when she took a dive and ended up cracking her chin on the gym floor. The resulting cut required four stitches, but she was back at practice the next day, according to coach Margaret Fitzgerald. that's Eagles dedicatlonl League": 1997 will set the course of Little next yea_z, and those w]o do with the decisions that are ],ade Tm : aro the wOdd.i P' :mew ,g Day,.Apdf11, ! l Join us for our 4th Annual I Street Celebration | "Saturday, September 27| 10 am-4 pm | / *Car Show * 50's-60's Band l *Sidewalk Sales *Food & Beverages l * Street Vendors *Beer & Wine | *Cookie Bake-Off *Pancake Breakfast I * Frog Jump *Games | .Hula Hoop/Yo Yo *Entertainer Contest I I CLeyE&qALE .
