Page 8, Clovardale Reveille, Sept. 17, 1997 Green Thumb Garden Club The Green Thumb Garden Club is pleased to announce comple- tion of the program arrangements for the coming year (Sept. '97- June '98) and would like to invite Cloverdalians to participate by attending any of the meetings or field trips, either as a guest or as a prospective member. The meet- ings are generally held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Briarwood Mobile Home Park. Anyone wishing to attend may contact Doris Bowman at 894- 2702. On September 17 a husband's potluck dinner will be held at the Briarwood gardens at 6 pm. On October 15 Jeff Allen owner of the Muchas Grasses will show ornamental grasses and explain their uses. November 19 will fea- ture Cloverdale's Marge Gray, renowned for her watercolors. For this program Marge will bring completed paintings and describe how they were painted and will explain how she gets ideas for her "fantasy flowers". The Annual Christmas party will be hosted by Stella Sutter and she can be con- tacted at 894-4653 and will take place on December 6. A brown bag lunch will be part of the Janu- ary 21" meeting. February 18 will feature a discussion of the Citrus Fair exhibit. On March 18, Liz Parson will taVe members on a "Wildlife Walk" by identifying local wild- flowers on a slide show and ex- plain all plant communities that occur in Sonoma County. April 29 (the fifth Wednesday) members and guests have been invited to the Pepper Road Estate in Petaluma. once a four acre veg- etable truck farm, this land came with a colony of gophers and noise to match the LA freeway.
