MANZANITA MANOR After discussing the con- dition of the private road leading to Manzanita Manor Convalescent Hospital, the council decided to send a letter to Cotter Health Ceners requesting the road be repaired. The council said the poor condition of the road is a safety hazard to ambulances, employees and visitors to the hospital. 9O TE L ME MT$ I4ARGE SERVICE ANIMAL SHELTER Council members approved a request by the Healdsburg Animal Shelter for an in- crease from $100 to $125 for the monthly fee the city pays. In return, the Healdsburg shelter picks up and houses stray animals in Cloverdale. Last month 24 dogs and I0 cats were handled by the shelter for Cloverdale. BACKUP RADIOS Police Chief Rod Persons told the council that backup radios for police and fire department communications have been purchased at a cost of $I,858. PG&E POWER LINE Permission was granted by the council for PG&E to in- stall a power line over an access road near the city sewer ponds. SURPLUS ITEMS Approval was granted for an auction of surplus city owned materials to be held. An advertisement of the materials to be auctioned wll be published this summer. CITY DINNER Councilman Steve Congdon proposed that an annual city dinner be held for city em- ployees. Mayor Jack Domenichelli replied that past attempts at holding employee parties have not aHracted much attendance. The council said that if employees show interest in holding an annual dinner or parly then it will be okayed by the city.
