Page 12. Cloverdale Revel,e. August 6. 1997 VETS ing the month of October. A cruise on the San Francisco Bay to the Golden Gate Bridge aboard the last Liberty Ship afloat will be offered on one of three days: Friday, October 10; Saturday, October 11; and Sunday, Octo- ber 12. You will not be issued a weap- on, you will not need a passport, the chow will be edible (no spam), no KP duty, no gas masks will be issued, and it will not be manda- tory to wear your Mae West at all times. And you will not disembark with the use of a rope ladder along the side of the ship. And we can almost guarantee that no one will be firing at us when we land. As of now, plans are in the making. The price for the cruise is tentatively set at $125 per person. This will include bus transportation, round trip, cof- fee and donuts upon boarding in the morning and a sumptious catered buffet luncheon served on the deck in the afternoon as you listen to the 1940's Big Band sounds. The Post plans to offer the trip to veterans who crossed the At- lantic or Pacific Oceans on a Liberty Ship. This should make the trip more memorable to these veterans. ARer August 20, the trip will be opened to anyone interested in coming aboard. All interested are asked to call the Post Services Officer Joe Anello, 894-9056 or Post Adju- tant 894-3640. Additional details will be published in next week's issue of the Reveille. RENSHAW found the BMW on its roof near the CDF Station. Charges of reckless driving, and driving in excess of 100 m.p.h, were dropped. According to Police Chief Rob Dailey, RoE- shaw has one prior DUI and one conviction for driving in excess of 100 miles per hour. For a sec- ond drunk driving arrest, Dailey believes Ronshaw could face jail time pay three or four thousand in fines, and have his driver's license suspended. Ronshaw is due back in court Aug. 21 at 9 am for sentencing. Gourmet Club to meet August 8 The next event for the Clover- dale Gourmet Club is Friday, August 8th, at 7:30 pm at the Cloverdale Visitor Wine Center, 105 N. Cloverdale Blvd. "The first night was truly fun with a live performance by a jazz musician and the screening of an independent art film," coordi- nator Jeff Weiss said. The next event includes a pot- luck dinner followed by a live classical guitar performance, short readings of literature, and an eclectic sharing of members' favorite music. People who love fine wine, food, music, art, literature, and film are invited to join the Cloverdale Gourmet Club to have a good time and support the develop- ment of the Cloverdale Visitor and Wine Center. Dues are $15 per couple per month which go to the Cloverdale Visitor Wine Center. For further information call JeffWeiss at 894-5737. Here we may read the most important histories, the most exciting volumes of travels and adventures, the most interesting stories, the most beautiful poems, we may meet the most eminent statesmen and poets and philosophers, benefit by the ideas of the greatest thinkers, and enjoy all the greatest creations of human genius. -John Lubbock th .
