Dated:July 18, 1997 Lloyd Von Der Mehden (Judge of the Superior Court) #92 July 23, 30,Aug. 6,13,'97 PUBUC J4OTICE The bacteriological quality of the drinking water served by Water system No. 4901179, Redwood Empire Sawmill, dur- ing the month of may 1997, exceeded the maximum con- taminant level as specified in Section 64426.1, Te 22 of the California Code of Regula- ' tions (CCR). The California Department of Health Services (Department) sets drinking water standards and has determined that the presence of total coiforms as a possible health concern. To- tal coliforms are common in the environment and are gen- erally not harmful themselves. The presence of these bacte- ria in drinking water, however, generally is a result of a prob- lem with water treatment or the pipes which distribute the wa- ter, and indicates that the wa- ter may be contaminated with organisms that can cause dis- ease. Disease symptoms may induda diarrhea, cramps, nau- sea, and possibly jaundice, and any associated headaches and league. These symptoms, hew- ever, are not just associated with disease causing organ- isms in drinking water, but also may be caused by anumber of factors other than your drink- ing water. The Department has set an enforceable drinking water standard for total coliforms to reckme the risk of these adverse health effects. Under this standard, no more than 5.0 percent of the samples collected during a month can contain these bacteda for sys- terns that collect 40 or more samples per month. Systems that collect fewer than 40 samples per month cannot have more than one total coliform positive sample in a month without violating the standard. Drinking water which meets this standard is usually not associated with a health risk from disease-causing bac- teria and should be considered safe. This notification of the public is being done in compliance with Section 64464, Title 22 of the CCR as a means of keeping the public informed. Persons wishing more infor- mation should contact Nolan Schweild at 894-4241. #85 July 23, '97 CITY OF CLOVERDALE CITY COUNCIL PUBUC HEARING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13,1997 NOTICE FOR PUBUCHEARING , NolkJ= HIm eeo that the City Council of the City Of CIo- verdafeintands tohoMa pub hearing will be for: 1 ) Presentation of a two year Operating Budget (FY 1997- 98/I 998-99) for all funds; and 2) To conduct an annual re- view of the water and sewer enterprises and to adjust the mtos accordingly.
