PAGE 14- WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2011 CLOVERDALE REVEILLE CLOVERDALE, CALIFORNIA Historical Society receives grant from Community Foundation Sonoma County The Cloverdale Historical Society has just announced that a $7000 Tuttle Grant for Historic Preserva- tion was awarded to help fund a new roof which the Gould Shaw House needs. The Gould Shaw House is the home of the Clover- dale Museum. It is estimated that the roof re- placement will cost approximately $16,000. The grant was applied for in March and is designed to help preserve historic structures within Sonoma County. The check should be received on June 1, according to Executive Director Laura Parker. The Historical Society also re- minds you that a reception intro- ducing Parker to the community is set for this Friday, May 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the History Center. Chamber breakfast date set for May 26 The first Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce "Breakfast for Champi- ons" held last month was a sell out. This month promises to be the same. The breakfast will be held at Zini's Diner, located in the Ace Hardware plaza on Thursday, May 26 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. This month's featured speaker is Ben Stone, Director of the Sonoma County Economic Development Board. Time is provided for your ques- tions. The cost is $11 and includes a full buffet breakfast featuring eggs, Swedish pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice. To reserve a seat, contact the Clo- verdale Chamber of Commerce at 894-4470. The Airport Open House on Saturday, May 7, involved pilots flying in and out of the Cloverdale Municipal Airport, owner built planes, Young Eagles plane flights and a host of other activities. Keith King, left, and Mark Tuma were enjoying the day. The Cloverdale Road Runners Car Club brought their cars out to the airport. The club welcomes new members and meets at 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month at Eagle Tech Collision & Towing for a potluck dinner meeting. Cloverdale Lions Club members barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers at the airport on Saturday, May 7. Putting in their time at the grill were Doug Laurice, left, Frank Rose, Ed Dalbec, Len Bonyeau and Tex Dickens. Porsche Club visits The Redwood Region Porsche Club of America will be meeting at the Historic Owl Cafe in Cloverdale on Friday, May 21. At 8 a.m. they will be having breakfast and registering for a tour through the wine country. "The cars will range from vintage to present day Porsches and should be a sight to see," commented Jeff Mogannam, owner of the Historic Owl Cafe. Woody Harris, from Vacaville, Chad Simmons and Bob Archibald from Dragonfly Aria!ion School in Santa Rosa, Michael Pinkston and Dave Walker, from Cloverdale in front a 2011 Cessna Skycatcher. Walker is considering taking flying lessons from Dragonfly Aviation. The company provided the plane rides for the Young Eagles at the open house. " .........................................  - ....
