Wednesday, May 7, 1980 - Page 9 Geyser Peak presents Summer Arts Festival in commemoration of their 100th anniversary The winds of change blow through Geyser Peak Winery as they celebrate their 100th anniversary. Established in 1880 by Augustus Quitzow, Geyser Peak combines fine winemaking with the ad- vances of modern technology to produce award-winning vintages from their historic cellars. In commemoration of Geyser Peak's 100 year history, a series of artistic performances have been scheduled at the winery in Geyserville, California. The Geyser Peak Arts Festival will produce a six-week series of performances which will showcase theatre, opera, music, dance and a variety of other art forms. Ticket prices will be held to a minimum, because of the non-profit status of the Geyser Peak Arts Festival, with proceeds from each event contributed to the performer's favorite charity. Performances are scheduled for each Saturday and Sunday from June 21 through July 27 with a special production set for Friday, July 4. Performances will begin at 5 pm. and the public is invited to arrive early to .participate in Geyser Peak Winery's Centennial events. Special family attractions will include rides on a horse- drawn hay wagon, panoramic views from our hiking trails, special tours of the winery and ample opportunity to enjoy our varietal wines while picnic!ng in the vineyards. Wayne Downey, president of Geyser Peak Winery, extends his personal in- vitation to join in the festivities and adds, "While we have set aside this time to honor our past successes and proud heritage, we look forward to continuing our philosophy of fine winemaking into the next 100 years." Further information concerning the Geyser Peak Arts Festival may be ob- tained by contacting: Geyser Peak Arts Festival, P.O. Box 66, Geyserville, CA 95441 or phoning 415-474-6332.
