'Page 4 - Wednesday, /Vy 7, 1980 6th Annual Fitch Mountain Footrace g m ' Health Fair Slated for June 22nd The 6th annual txtcn Mountain Footrace and Health Fair will be held on Sunday, June 22 for serious runners and the family jogger in this small com- munity on the Russian River. The annual race is spon- sored by th Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce and is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union. Two courses will be of- fered. The 6 mile race begins at the City Plaza and goes around beautiful Fitch Mountain with a finish line back at the Plaza. It is open to all runners. For the family jogger there is a shorter (four mile) course that begins part-way around the mountain. It also ends at the Plaza. Runners may also register on the morning of the race between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. in the Plaza for $4 per runner. No family discounts will be available on the day of the race. Prizes will be awarded for mens and womens open division winners and to the jogger who comes closest to predicting his or her time (4 mile race only - runners may not wear watches). The first 500 runners to finish will receive "I ran the Mountain" participation buttons. There will be divisions for children and times will be rencrded for all runners.
