Tuesday, April 22 Man ran his BMW into a tele- phone pole across from the CDF station on the Boulevard fleeing from police. Taken to HGH. Report of mail stolen from a mailbox on Hot Springs Road. 911 report of a juvenile tres- passing and possibly attempting to break into a residence on University Street. Woman at Brookside reports her tires were slashed on her vehicle. Wednesday, April 23 Vehicle accident reported at Cloverdale Boulevard and Lake Street, minor injuries. Clover Market reports having a male juvenile in custody for shoplifting. Juvenile was cited to serve two hours working at Clover Market. CoUeen Jones Pat Paulsen Pat Paulsen, comedian on the Smother's Brother's Comedy Hour in the late 60's, perennial presidential candidate, and prob- ably best remembered in Clover- dale as owner of Pat Paulsen Vineyards, Asti Village, and self- proclaimed mayor of Asti, died Thursday, April 25, 1997 at the age of 69. Only a month ago it was announced he had inoperable brain cancer. Paulsen bought what was to be known as Paulsen Vineyards in 1970 and the Asti Village in 1986 which he ran with his first wife Jane.
