Cloverdale April 26, 1984 - 25 years ago: The Board of the Cloverdale Unified School District met to ratify an agreement that was made between the Board 6f Supervisors of Sonoma County, the Superintendent of Schools of Sonoma County and the Board of Trustees of the Cloverdale School District. The agreement was based upon the dispute over assessed property taxation of several steam pro- ducers at the Geysers. With this agreement the county will impound $1.9 million for the disputed taxes for the ~ears 1980-83, but not impound any money for the 1983-84 school years. By ratifying the agreement the Board asks that they be allowed to borrow money to enable the District to operate through July, 1984. The Planning Commission voted to require an EIR from Ultrapower Inc. who proposes to build an 11.4 megawatt waste wood power plant near downtown Cloverdale.
