Page 6--WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30,2011 CLOVERDALE REVEILLE CLOVERDALE, CALIFORNIA BrettSouthard CHS Athlete ofthe Week This week's Cloverdale High School (CHS) Athlete Of The Week is senior baseball player Brett Southard. Brett is the stereotypical "quiet leader." He is a player who leads by example more often than not. He works very hard, is goal oriented, and pushes himself to exceed at whatever challenges he has asked of himself. Brett is having a stellar season so far and even though the Eagles are only four games into this wet and wild pre-season he has put up some very nice numbers. At the plate he is currently hitting .538 going 7x13 with eight rbi's, one double, a .600 on base percentage and holds a .615 slugging percentage. On the mound No. 44 has pitched 13 innings, struck out 11 batters only walking four, and holds a 3.23 ERA. Brett looks to be one of the players to watch in this upcoming season for the Eagles. We congratulate this week's CHS Player Of The Week Brett Southard. Senior shortstop Beau Gastineau applies a tag to a would be base stealer in a game against the Kelseyville Knights on March 9 that the Eagles won 7-6 played at the City Park. Eagles baseball and softball should resume this week. Senior 3rd baseman Brett Southard reaches out and attempts to tag a runner sliding into 3rd in a recent home game.
