Cloverdale Blvd. Cloverdale, CA Mon-Satg.,8 Sun 10-7 Smokers may kick the habit ByJEANBULLER Smokers who want to kick the habit will hvae their chance next week. A special Five-Day Plan will be con- ducted in Cloverdale by a physician-pastor team at the Adventist Church. The plan consists of regular group therapy sessions, films, and a daily personal control program. The Five- Day Plan has successfully helped many people quit smoking during the past 17 years. Conducting the program locally will be Carl Aagaard, MD., a Ukiah pathologist, and Pastor Dale Wolcott. Group therapy sessions will be held at 7:30 each evening beginning March 30 at the Adventist Church, 8775 Highway 101 South. Sponsored by the Clover- dale Seventh-day Adventist Church as a community service, the Five-Day Plan aims to help improve the health of the community and to contribute to the national physical-fitness program, Wolcott explains. Held successfully in cities all across the United States and Canada and in most countries of the world, the Five-Day Plan to stop smoking features such topics as the psychological and physiological aspects of the habit, how craving can be lessened, how willpower can be strengthened, physical effects of smoking, organization of a buddy system and many other techniques designed to break the havit within a five-day period. A feature will be the film "COUNTDOWN", depicting a lung cancer operation, to be shown Sunday night, the first evening of the therapy session. A $3 registration fee will be charged to cover the cost of materials used. Pre- registration is preferred but not required. To pre-register, or for further information call 894-3201.
