Presen~d by Jeff and Tina Tare GIVING KIDS A NEEDED BOOST New research shows that children aged four to eight years are safer while riding in automobiles if they sit in booster seats instead of just using seat belts. Children in belt positioning booster seats were found to be 45 percent less likely to sustain a serious injury during a crash. This updated research supports recommendations from the American Academy of Pedi- atrics (AAP) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which recommend that children use booster seats from age four until they are tall enough to fit properly in vehicle seats. The American Academy of Pediatrics says that children are tall enough to fit into regular seat-belt when they reach 4'9", which occurs anywhere from age eight to twelve. Hint: The most important aspect of any driving experience is safety. Wh~ Y0U ha~ ~h!!dt~ of ~y ag~ ~ fro~ ~st~ ~at~ to ~rakes ~ ~ ~6p~ we ~ provide ~ ~]~t ~ ~fe~ a~ effid~ntly.
