"Its a process available to everyone." Ballard, a Christian Science lecturer from San Francisco, has seen hundreds of people healed of serious difficulties through spiritual means alone. On Saturday, Feb. 8, he will speak on "Spiritual Healing: You Can Prove It for Yourself' at the Raven Film Center, 415 Center Street, Healdsburg, at 11 a.m. The public is invited to this free, one hour presentation which is sponsored by the Christian Science Society, Healdsburg. Free parking and child care will be provided. Ballard will discuss the spiritual principles illustrated by heal- ings found in the Bible and explain how people can apply these to their own lives. He will present several recent healings of condi- tions that include leukemia, internal injuries suffered from a severe fall, and a supposedly incurable sexually transmitted dis- ease. "The power of healing resides in the Christ - in the expression of God's qualities in man - not in human effort or responsibility," Ballard says. "Healing takes place when we better understand our divine right to wholeness and how we can draw upon God's all- embracing love for man." Ballard is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College with a dgree in political science. He entered the full-time healing minis- try of Christian Science in 1969. As a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, he has traveled extensively, giving presentations at colleges and universities, branch Christian Sci- ence churches, and media outlets. He and his family live in San Francisco and Ashland, Or. ville High School on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7 pm.
