www.cloverdalereveiile.com January 24, 2019 The Cloverdale Reveille Page 9 By Greg Clementi Sports Editor The varsity basketball Eagles are coming off a busy week on the league schedule, logging two wins in three out- ings. The Eagles oPened the string on Jan. 14 with an 82-42 rout at Willits, but weathered a 65-60 home loss to Clear Lake two nights later. Cloverdale ended the stretch with a 61-42 win over St. Helena. "We continue to play great team bas- ketball, with five players scoring in dou- ble figure versus Willits, four against Clear Lake and three in double figures versus St. Helena," Eagle's coach Pat Fitzgerald reported. "We put together one of our best defensive efforts against St. Helena with 14 steals and six deflec- tions in Friday's win." At press time the Eagles (5-2, 11-7) were at the halfway mark in the NCL 1 season, with home and away dates scheduled with Middletown on Jan. 22 and Kelseyville on Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Eagles take two It was all Cloverdale in the Jan. 14 win at Willits, opening up a 39-22 at the break on their way to an 82-42 rout.
